Dewayne is an award-winning sports broadcaster, specializing in radio and TV play-by-play broadcasts currently based in southeast Iowa. In July 2022, Dewayne accepted the Director of Broadcast position with GoSCCTV, an affiliate of the Iowa Media Network, based out of Centerville, Iowa.

In this role, Dewayne covered all things South Central Conference (SCC) which is comprised of eight schools within the southeast Iowa region. From providing play-by-play broadcasts of baseball, boys and girls basketball, cross country, football, boys and girls soccer, softball, volleyball, and wrestling to creating featured content pieces involving students at each school in the Conference, Dewayne's goal was to shine the spotlight on all activities and participants in the SCC.

In the fall of 2024, the Iowa Media Network expanded to include a new platform: GoKnoxvilleTV, a broadcast network dedicated to Knoxville High School activities and athletics. With this new development, Dewayne transferred to become the Director of Broadcast for GoKnoxvilleTV, which also included a much larger Sales role with the company. Since the launch of the network in August 2024, GoKnoxvilleTV has been the fastest growing platform in Iowa Media Network history. For examples of Dewayne's video work with GoKnoxvilleTV, please visit the Network's page, here.

In five of the last six years (2020-23, 2025), Dewayne has been called upon to provide television play-by-play for the NJCAA Division II and Division III Women's Volleyball National Championships at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He broadcast a total of 24 matches doing solo play-by-play, plus an additional six with a fellow broadcaster at each Championship events. Dewayne has also teamed up with GoHillsTV, another subsidiary of the Iowa Media Network, to provide play-by-play and color commentary of Indian Hills Community College athletics via the company's online platform.

Prior to his employment with the Iowa Media Network, Dewayne served as the Operations Manager/Sports Director at Ottumwa Radio Group in Ottumwa, Iowa. In this position, Dewayne oversaw a staff of 5-10 full-time and part-time employees while handling the day-to-day operations of six commercial radio stations. Dewayne was also the lead play-by-play broadcaster for Van Buren County High School athletics including baseball, boys & girls basketball, football and volleyball.

His first post-graduate job landed Dewayne at KSID Radio in Sidney, Nebraska for three-plus years (2016-2019), where he filled the role of News Director/Play-by-Play Broadcaster. During his tenure at KSID, Dewayne earned three awards from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association (NBA): Gold Award for Best Play-by-Play (2017-18), Gold Award for Best News Feature story (2018-19), and Silver Award for Best Sports Feature story (2018-19). His Gold Award for play-by-play in 2017-18 was the station's first NBA award in over 50 years.

While he has cultivated his career, to this point, in the Midwest, Dewayne grew up in the Sunshine State: Pensacola, Florida. In December 2015, he fulfilled a life-long dream: graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications. Shortly after moving to the Midwest, Dewayne met his now wife, Sadie. They were married Dec. 23, 2022, and now live in Ottumwa, Iowa with their 1-year-old daughter, Kayva.
